*A warm Welcome to LOAM Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine! Today we’re sharing a little background information about LOAM and what we offer. If you’d like to read more answers to frequently asked questions, visit our FAQ page.
Loam is soil in harmony, containing balanced elements of sand, silt, clay, and humus. A loamy soil is the ideal environment for the nourishment plants, people, and the planet. Our philosophy of practice is centered on the belief that a nurtured individual generates a nurtured community.
LOAM Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine (LOAM) is an acupuncture clinic and wellness education center dedicated to nurturing intersectional healing, as a means to survive and thrive. We believe that Chinese medicine is an emerging ally in this pursuit, and in our movements for liberation.
Christian Totty (Acupuncturist & Education Coordinator) and Richard Conley (Business & Development Coordinator) co-founded LOAM, with a shared passion for wellness and agriculture. Both Christian and Richard grew up hearing stories about their ancestors who farmed and cared for their homelands in Ohio and the Philippines, respectively. This rich legacy led them on a path to restore their ancestral ways, and a renewed understanding of the relationship between culture, medicine, and ecology.
Our space is located in downtown Lima, OH. We offer acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, gua sha, nutrition and herbal consultations, Asian bodywork, and wellness education workshops. Additionally, we offer distance wellness education sessions, for our homies and community in other areas of the world.
When do you open?
LOAM officially opened in July. Our office hours are by appointment Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 9am – 6pm, and Friday/Saturday 9am – 1pm. Workshops are held after hours, or during weekends.
